sassy water

Feeling sassy? I am.
I found this brilliant, brilliant idea on Sitno Seckanovia via my favorite website ever.... drumroll please... Pinterest! How did I ever survive without it? A place to ooooh and awww over hundreds of mind-boggling ideas... A place to bookmark and easily organize anything I stumble across online... AHHHHHHH!!!
Let's just say I spend way too much time on there.
Anyways... sassy water. (Don't you love the name?) Rumored to help you maintain a flat belly, lemon and water fuse overnight to create a natural detox, helping to flush impurities out of your system. The cucumber lends a cool, refreshing flavor while the mint gives it a bit of a snap. The original recipe had fresh ginger, but I didn't have any and I still really liked the result.

I like to make a batch and divide it among a few ball jars so I can take it to work or with me on errands. Go ahead! Make it! Embrace your inner sassiness.

Update - September 19, 2012
A lot of you have asked about how I use Sassy Water and the results that I see. So here is a bit more about how I use it each week. I drink about 3 batches a week and I make it in a gallon pitcher. You could make more... The recipe didn't orginate on a SSL and I've read online that some folks drink a gallon a day and are fine. I switch the fruit every time I make a new batch.
I combine it with a low carb/high protein diet and 3-4 exercise routines a week, so I feel like it does help me lose weight but it doesn't stand alone. Personally, I can tell a difference when I am drinking it... I feel more hydrated and I retain less water weight. Also, after a weekend when I blow off my diet, I feel back to normal faster if I am drinking sassy water.
I never use it to replace meals, so please consult a doctor first if you are planning on doing that. Also, some of you have asked me how it affects medication. Again, that would be a question for your doctor. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. Just my personal experience. :)

Don't know if it's doing any detoxing or not, but it tastes GREAT! I finished a pitcher in a little over a day! I'm hooked!
I made this last night. Please tell me what I did wrong it was so bitter. help
The sassy water actually comes from the book flat belly diet. It does work good. Its suppose to help flatten your belly.
@Linda - Not sure what happened! Maybe try less lemon and more mint? Adjust it to your taste. :)
@Lori - Yes, lots of people have mentioned that book... Unfortunately, I didn't realize that it originated there until after I posted. I did credit the site I found the recipe on though. Thanks!
Using ionized alkaline water could take this to a whole new level!
Did anyone have any sort of side effects with it?
What are the other recipes you use
Thanks for sharing this. It looks so delicious and I can't wait to try it! I also appreciated your update on whether or not it has been helping. Sometimes my schedule doesn't always allow me to take the best care of myself and it is good to know that this potentially may help me have an easier time of getting back on track when I derail.......and it's called "sassy water" seriously? How could you not drink something called "sassy water"?
3 quarts didn't fit in my pitcher, but it looks just like the one you have. just wanted to make sure it was supposed to be 3? Also, doesn't that make 12 cups of water - so the goal is to drink more than the daily recommended 8? just checking! I thought drinking more than 8 was too much and caused electrolyte imbalance. but this is all hearsay...so that's why i was checking that you did 3. :)
Im thinking about trying this, someone told me that dexoing makes you poop alot is that true?
I drink this all the time! The cucumber is a diuretic & the ginger if used (just a couple of slices) is to help settle your stomach. Love the flavor it gives the water!
I thought it tasted awful!! The aftertaste of mint was terrible and bitter in the back of my mouth....ackie!!
I was just wondering why you like to call this Sassy Water?
thanks for sharing. I think that my appetite has been controlled after drinking this sassy water. whenever i feel hungry i take a sip and its gone.
This is SO good!!! Thank you for the idea! No fresh mint leaves here right now, so I just threw in a couple mint tea bags. SO delicious!
Just to let all know the reason the Ball jar is blue is because it contains large amounts of lead! Only use blue Ball jars for bouquets, etc. NOT for drinking!
Just made this tonight so I will taste it in the morning. I would really like to know how many times you can reuse the lemons, cucumbers and mint before you need to throw them away and start over. Does anyone know?
I'm a worry wort about detox's I've heard from many people to stay away because I'm pregnant but this seems so yummy I've always put cucumbers in my water so this is pregnant friendly right? It has to be!
Just made this and can not wait to try!
Just made my first batch of this and I'm so excited to try it!! One question though, the pitcher I had wasn't big enough for 3 quarts of water, I was only able to do 2...do you think this will affect it badly?! I hope not I'm so excited to try it! :)
