Nice to meet you. I love Jesus, my husband, tiny birds, early morning jogs, long nosy letters, friendly old books, strong coffee, and simple food.

I work full time as a media assistant and I am blogger, recipe developer, and photographer on the side. It all keeps me busy!

A little over a year ago, I went gluten-free and I immediately felt better.  Less headaches, stomach aches, and break outs and more energy... While I do not have a severe allergy, I do have an intolerance. And, I choose to keep wheat out of my diet. I also limit dairy.

While it initially seemed like a really hard lifestyle change, I've found gluten-free alternatives that have made my life easier and a lot yummier. But, I do try to construct recipes so that anyone can use them. So, whether or not you are gluten free, there is something for you here. (Please note that I haven't always been GF and a lot of my familly and friends aren't GF, so there are also some recipes here that aren't, but if it's tagged gluten-free you are safe. :)

I'm not a chef or a baker. I don't have any formal training.  But, food, people, and photography are kind of my thing, so starting a food blog made a lot of sense. It's been a journey. I blush when I think how bad my photos were at first, but I've already learned so much and there is so much more to learn.

Other things you need to know... I live in Chesapeake, VA with a boy and a puppy. If you have a question or are interested in working with me, please email me at heathermish{at}gmail{dot}com.

You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. My work has been featured on The Kitchn, Buzzfeed, Tastespotting, Foodgawker, and Tasty Kitchen
